Tahoe, CA – The Western Region Society of Nuclear Medicine (WRSNM) will honor Cameron C. Foster, MD, FSNMMI, Professor of Nuclear Medicine and Director of Theranostics at UC Davis Health with the presentation of their Distinguished Service Award. The Award will be presented at the 2022 WRSNM Annual Meeting, October 28-30, 2022 at the Resort at Squaw Creek in Tahoe, California.
The WRSNM Distinguished Service Award is given annually at the WRSNM Meeting to a physician, physicist or scientist, or a Nuclear Medicine technologist based on the individual’s exceptional service to a Western Regional Chapters, their local chapter or to the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI).
Dr. Foster is a Nuclear Medicine physician practicing a wide variety of both diagnostic imaging and therapeutic interventions. He has a particular emphasis on nuclear and molecular imaging, image interpretation and implementation of new modalities, therapies and optimization of existing techniques.
Dr. Foster is heavily involved in the education of medical students, residents and fellows (some faculty as well) and has been active in the residency program for several years. He has been a longstanding program director for general Nuclear Medicine and associate director of the combination Nuclear Medicine / Diagnostic Radiology programs at UC Davis.
Dr. Foster received his Bachelor of Science degree from UC Davis in 1999. He attended Medical School at the UC Davis School of Medicine in Sacramento, CA and completed his Internship and Nuclear Medicine Residency UC Davis. He was named Chief Resident in Nuclear Medicine at UC Davis in 2005 and joined the UC Davis Nuclear Medicine faculty in 2006.
Dr. Foster has served as a participant and officer on the board of the Northern California Chapter SNMMI, officer in the Western Region SNM, and member of various committees for the national SNMMI. He is an active lecturer at annual regional and local chapter SNMMI meetings.
